After a busy January we’re really excited for what promises to be a really exciting February. First up, we’ve got our next Interclub competition! This time it’s adults only taking place at Gracie Barra Harrogate on the 16th of February. Please register this weekend if you’d like the take part.
Our Thursday women’s class is going from strength to strength! We’re really excited to add this to our schedule and see our female members take their Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to the next level.
A big well done to Chander who headed to his first competition at the Empire Grappling North East Open today and came home with a silver medal! We’re all really proud of your effort and putting yourself out there on the competition mat.
For our GBKs, we’ll be bringing Kids No Gi to GB Apperley Bridge in the near future - so keep an eye on your inbox for more information if this sounds like something your child might be interested in.
Finally, with Ramadan approaching in March, we wanted to confirm classes will be running as usual. Those fasting will be able to open their fast at the academy, and we will be organising a community Iftar.

GB Harrogate x GB Apperley Bridge x GB Roundhay Leeds Interclub
We’re really excited to be running our second interclub, this time for adults only at Gracie Barra Harrogate. Whether you're looking to get into competing, sharpen your skills for your next competition, or you'd like to experience refereed matches in a friendly, supportive atmosphere, sign up and join us for what promises to be a great event at the academy!
Costing just £15 to enter, we'll be looking to give each person at least 2 matches based on availability of an appropriate opponent based on age, weight and experience. We're also really lucky to have David Lane in attendance taking pictures for our team to remember the day!
Women’s Classes Now at Gracie Barra Apperley Bridge
We now have a women’s only class for all of our female members to attend! We’re really excited to be launching this with Coach Hollie and Professor Khalil. This class takes place every Thursday at 6.30pm. If you’ve got a female friend who’s interested in Jiu Jitsu, why not bring them along for a free trial? It’s a fantastic, friendly atmosphere and we’re loving watching our female members develop their Jiu Jitsu!
Empire Grappling North East Open
A massive well done to Chander who competed at the Empire Grappling North East Open! As a club we’re really proud of you for stepping out there and testing yourself outside the academy. Congratulations on your silver medal - you made everyone at GB Apperley Bridge proud!

Kids No Gi Class Coming Soon
We’re really excited to be launching a GBK No Gi class soon! We feel this is going to be an excellent addition to our timetable and we can’t wait to see how our younger members enjoy no-gi over the coming months! Look out for updates in your inbox on this one!
